Laurel Smith-Doerr, professor of sociology in the UMass Amherst College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, gave an NSF Distinguished Lecture on her work on biotech contexts and equity. The lecture, “Equity, Behavior, and Ethics in the Advancing U.S. Bioeconomy,” is now available on YouTube. In addition to participating in the distinguished lecture panel, Laurel spent the day visiting virtually with NSF leadership and program officers, offering perspectives to NSF on exciting new directions for research on technology, innovation, and partnerships.
