Eligibility
Major
Can be a current UMass CS or Informatics major, or other Five-College student with relevant programming and/or stats experience*
Classification
Juniors have first priority followed by Seniors and finally by Sophomores
Prerequisites
Must have approximately 200-level course experience in computer science OR in informatics (aka any CS 200-level or INFO 248 or equivalent)
Experience
Students without prior opportunities to engage in research experiences in CS are given priority, and those with more experience can still get a seat, space permitting
Motivation
A desire to engage in a course focused on increasing the representation of women, non-binary and other underrepresented identities in computing
*Eligible five-college students currently enrolled at Amherst College, Hampshire College, Mount Holyoke College, and Smith College are all welcome to join the class. Please contact Michelle Trim with any questions about enrollment or about course pre-requisites.
