The Student Poster Session is an integral part of the Voices of Data Science 2021 program. It provides a platform for early-career data scientists, especially students, to showcase their work to conference attendees as well as obtain feedback.

We invite all registered women (cis and trans) and non-binary student attendees to submit their work to be considered for the poster session. This could include ongoing or prior work in the field of data science, including but not limited to theoretical foundations, novel and interdisciplinary applications of data science, data visualization, ethics, fairness, and accountability in data science, etc.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The work must be led by a woman (cis and trans) or non-binary student. (i.e. first author and presenter should be a woman (cis and trans) or non-binary student)
  • Both undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to submit their work.
  • The participants must be registered for the conference via this registration link.
  • The work can either be previously published or be ongoing work, but must be in the field of data science.

Requirements and Timeline

  • [Deadline Passed] Please submit an abstract of your work (no longer than 250 words) via this form by February 10th, 2021 (23:59 EST). Submissions must include a title, names and affiliations of all authors, and the abstract.
  • [Deadline Passed] The Organizing Committee will review all submitted abstracts for author eligibility and relevance to data science. Authors of accepted posters will be notified on a rolling basis.
  • [Deadline Passed] The accepted abstracts would have to submit a poster by February 15th, 2021Instructions for poster submission will be emailed to the registered author.
  • [Deadline Passed] The poster session will be held from 1:15 PM to 2:00 PM EST on Friday, February 19th, 2021. Authors will be provided a virtual space to display their posters and engage with attendees.
