Physical Computing Makerspace (CICS Makerspace)
- We are the Manning College of Information and Computer Sciences official makerspace. Our studio serves CICS students, faculty, and staff by offering a place to ideate, innovate, and iterate on creative, deep, and inspiring projects. You are welcome to use the space for collaboration, individual work, or as inspiration for something new!
- The majority of our focus is centered around:
- electronics, especially physical computing, sensors, microcontrollers, and LED installations.
- additive and subtractive fabrication like 3D printing, laser engraving/cutting, and light CNC milling.
- light workshop fabrication like hand and power tools.
- collaboration on academic projects, independent entrepreneurial endeavors, and club meetings.
The Makerspace Location
We are located on the UMass Amherst campus in the Computer Science Laboratories (CSL), room E302.
