In spring 2023, UMass Amherst will be offering a new Public Interest Technology Class,\u00a0<\/span>Introduction to Public Interest Technology<\/strong> (CICS 290P).\u00a0 <\/b>The course focuses on s<\/span>ocial responsibility in a tech-powered world<\/em>\u00a0and introduces core concepts of Public Interest Technology.\u00a0 <\/i><\/span><\/p>

Available to all students, the course will provide an overview of what is public interest technology, its impact and promotional strategies.\u00a0 Course lectures will be given by Public Interest Technologist and Professor Fran Berman, a diverse group of instructors from across the UMass campus and potential guest lecturers, all coordinated to introduce students to the emerging field of Public Interest Technology.<\/p>

This is an experimental course, taught on Mondays and Wednesdays.\u00a0 It will also be offered in the fall.\u00a0 Learn more<\/strong><\/a> about the course offering and consider sharing with students who may have an interest. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
