CICS EQUATE<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0Public Interest Technology Initiative (PIT@UMass)\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0are launching a\u00a0\u201cTech in the News\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0series to talk about timely topics and the technology behind them. \u00a0This series is designed to give all of us a chance to talk about the ways that tech impacts society, why, and what we can do about it. \u00a0<\/p>

The first session will take place on\u00a0November 8, 2022, <\/strong>from 1:00-2:30 pm\u00a0<\/strong>and focus\u00a0on the recent release of a \u201cBlueprint for an AI Bill of Rights<\/a>\u201d from the White House Office of Science and Technology\u00a0(see also\u00a0Lawfare<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Wired<\/a>),\u00a0as well as a\u00a0recent<\/a>\u00a0incident demonstrating the challenges of content moderation.\u00a0\u00a0Speakers will be Professors\u00a0Przemek Grabowicz<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Brian Levine<\/a>\u00a0and Professor\u00a0Fran Berman<\/a>\u00a0will moderate the discussion. \u00a0Come listen, discuss, ask questions, and engage in a fascinating discussion of the challenges and opportunities of tech in today\u2019s world.\u00a0<\/p>

Please note that the event will include candid discussion of child sexual exploitation.<\/em><\/p>
